19/02/2008 :: The 33rd anniversary of the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) was colourfully celebrated 18th and 19th February in Dedebit and Shire, Tigray region. The locations for this year's celebrations symbolized the importance of Dedebit where the TPLF was originally founded in 1974 and from where TPLF started its struggle against the Dergue-regime, and Shire where important breakthroughs in the struggle against the Dergue were achieved. However the 33rd anniversary was celebrated in a forward looking mood.
