Ethiopia is strategically located in the Horn of Africa, at the crossroads between Africa, the Middle East and Europe. It is situated within easy reach of the Horn’s major ports which connects it with the Middle East and Europe, which are Ethiopia’s traditional markets for its export products.
At present, the major export products of Ethiopia include coffee, livestock products (Skins & hides, leather, live animals and meat), oil seeds and pulses, fruits, vegetables and flowers, textiles, natural gum, spices and mineral products. In addition tourism in Ethiopia is a fast growing industry.
This guide to the priority trade sectors in Ethiopia was compiled by the Embassy for the Ethiopian - Norwegian trade seminar held in Oslo on June 3rd 2008.
