Ambassador visits Harar Regional State.

25.10.2007 // Ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud and members of the Embassy staff visited Harar Regional State 14-15 October holding meetings with H.E. President Murad Abdulhadi and taken around the more than thousand years old city of Harar by the president.   

The two parties discussed economic development and the potential of Harar in tourism as well as Harar as a gateway to the Somali Region and to Somalia (and Somaliland in particular).  

The Ambassador, while visiting Harar, also gave a keynote adress  at a Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions (CETU) Conference on "Work Culture and Productivity", opened by the Harari president.  The Conference drew participants from 5 eastern regions of Ethiopia and among others heard testimony of the success story of Harar Brewery from its manager Junedin Basha.
