Ethiopian Minister for Water Resources is visiting Norway
The Ethiopian Minister for Water Resorces, H.E. Ato Asfaw Dingamo, is currently visiting Norway . During his visit, H.E. Ato Asfaw Dingamo will participate in the 33rd International Geological Congress in Oslo , where he has been invited to give a presentation on Ethiopian groundwater resource management.
H.E. Ato Asfaw Dingamo’s visit to Norway will last from 5th to 13th August, and will further include meetings with Norwegian Church Aid, the Norwegian Water and Energy Directorate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ethiopian Ministry of Water Resources and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa, are in the process of signing a bilateral agreement on Norwegian support to feasibility studies for hydropower development on the Blue Nile. The feasibility studies are planned for the period of 2009-2010 and will follow two completed feasibility studies on the Blue Nile previously funded by Norway.
