Approximately 50 participants attended and actively participated. The participants came from different Norwegian businesses and trades around the focussed areas og textiles, leather and shoes, handicraft, tourism, coffe and flowers. Government institutions like NORFUND, HSH, Innovation Norway, Norad and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended, listening to representatives of the two embassies, HSH, NORAD and Ethiopian Ailines presenting investment and trade opportunities.
The general message was that the investment climate in Ethiopia is now very welcoming to investment and trade, government is encouraging exports, the economic growth of 10 % annually is the highest among non oil producing African countries and that untapped Norwegian-Norwegian trade and investment opportunities should be taken advantage of.
Ambassador Dina Mufti and ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud are conducting numerous meetings with Norwegian companies and government institutions for the rest of the week.
