60th anniversary of diplomatic relations covered in Focus
Ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud is the cover story in this months issue of the Focus magazine.
Under the heading “the fruit of six decades of relations” ambassador Kjemprud talks about his experience with the region, the Ethiopian-Norwegian diplomatic history and this years 60th anniversary of the longstanding diplomatic relations.
- Five of the 21 non-european languages taught at the University of Oslo are Ethiopian: this is an indication of the interest in Ethiopian culture and art in Norway, says the ambassador in the interview.
Celebration
Ethio-Norwegian diplomatic relations was established when Emperor Haile Selassie chose the Royal Norwegian Navy to establish the then Imperial Naval Force in Ethiopia and the Norwegians were given the task to establish the naval base in Massawa.
