More than 100 companies, organisations and producers have been presented at the Hortiflora Ethiopia 2009 this week. Chairman of the Ethiopian Horticulture Producers Exporters Associations Tsegaye Abebe commended the government for its commitment to the growth of the sector in an interview with the Ethiopian Herald on Thursday: - The sector has started to suffer from the ill-effects of the global financial crisis. Partners like airlines, bankers, suppliers and other actors should work together in reversing the adverse effects of the crisis, Abebe said. The exhibition serves as a platform for exhibiting products - but it is also introducing Ethiopian suppliers to international buyers. The Norwegian company Yara has been present at Hortiflora Ethiopia 2009 as well as the rose farm Golden Rose that exports Fair Trade roses to Norway.
