Online applications will, until further notice, only be available for applicants holding a valid passport. Applications online can also be submitted by reference-persons in Norway. When applying online, payment must be made using Master-or VISA Cards. IMPORTANT: The fee for Family-Reunification is ETB 7.800 (NOK 3.000). This fee is mandatory toALL online applicants , but will be reimbursed for persons under the age of 18. Fee for a Student-Visa application is ETB 2.900.
Once the application has been submitted (online), the applicant in Ethiopia will have to present copies of the required documents at the Embassy of Norway. Applying online will enable applicants to make a booking for submitting documents at the Embassy. Online applicants will be given priority for appointments, whereas applicants who choose to apply in person, will have to wait for longer periods.

The following documents are required for family reunification:
• ID-document (passport/national ID-card/birth certificate)
• Copy of the passport of the reference person in Norway
• Documents on housing in Norway
• Documents on subsistence in Norway (income of the reference person in Norway)
• Marriage certificate if you are married to the reference- person in Norway
• For children the following documentation must be submitted:
- Birth certificate
- For adopted children: adoption papers showing that the adoption is legal
- For foster children: Documentation that foster parents exercise legal parental responsibility
- For children with one parent in Norway: Written consent from parent not living in Norway when parental responsibility is shared
