6 Ethiopian PhD students at Norwegian University

6 Ethiopians are among the 23 PhD students at University of Life Sciences, Department for International Environment and Development Studies (Noragric) in Norway. Only Norway had more PhD students (7). Noragric has a long standing cooperation with Mekelle and Hawassa Universities.

The six Ethiopian students and their topics were:

Boku Tache Dida: Environment and poverty linkages and local perceptions of poverty and poverty alleviation among Borana pastoralists in Southern Ethiopia

Hussein Jammo Sheymo: Politics, property rights and production in Arso and East Shewa zones of Ethiopia (1941-2004)

Ayele Tessema Jufare: Household livelihood adaption in a high population density area in Ethiopia: The case of Wolaita zone.

Waktole Tiki Uma: Social Environmental History of the Tula Wells Ecosystem, Borana, Sothern Ethiopia (1889-2005).

Abebe Saifu Welde Tsadik: Conflict Management over contested forest resources: The case of Munesha Shashemene Forest Industry Enterprise
