New Ethiopian PhD candidates from the Norwegian University of Life Science
Hassan G. Roba, Ayele Tessema and Boku Tache Dida from Ethiopia defended their PhD thesis at the Noragric Center of the Norwegian University of Life Science in September and December.
PhD candidate Hassan G. Roba defended his thesis on 12 September. His dissertation is called "Global goals, local actions: A framework for integrating indigenous knowledge and ecological methods for rangeland assessment and monitoring in northern Kenya". PhD candidate Boku Tache Dida successfully defended his thesis on 5 September. The title of his dissertation is “Pastoralism under stress: Resources, institutions and poverty among the Borana Oromo in southern Ethiopia”. The dissertation's Abstract is available on the Noragric website.
PhD candidate Ayele Tessema successfully defended his thesis on 18 December. The title of his dissertation is “Livelihood Adaptation, Risks and Vulnerability in Rural Wolaita, Ethiopia”.
