As a social-anthropologist and photographer Norwegian Thera Mjaaland has been researching the conditions for women in the Endabaguna area in Tigray-region where she has been involved for the last 17 years. She is also concerned about the tendency of portraying Ethiopian women as “victimized”, and wants to show them as she has come to know them; strong, independent and with a “fighting spirit”.
