Formission goes Ethiopian!

Last updated: 08.10.2009 // The interior and lifestyle brand Formission is now brought to Africa, and Ethiopia is amongst the East African countries where production will take place through woman entrepreneur businesses. Norwegian HSH Department of International Trade Cooperation (HSH) took over sole ownership of the Formission Brand in January 2009 and the process of creating new products will be continued by HSH – in Africa!

Formission will develop a new African collectionFormission will develop a new African collection
Initially Formission was a co-operation programme in Vietnam, with the partners HSH and Swedish Chambers of Commerce (SCC). Formission now goes African, through the businesses of the participants in the Woman Entrepreneurship Programme (WED) and other woman entrepreneur businesses in East Africa.

The new African collection will be developed by Scandinavian designers in co-operation with the East African women. The production will take place in Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda.

The objective of the programme is continuing to contribute to economic growth in developing countries, through capacity  building, sustainable production and the force of competition within exporters.

HSH and SCC have for several years worked to promote the export of crafts from developing countries in Africa and Asia. The Formission project was started in 2006 to support small and medium sized businesses in these countries to be able to meet the desired design and quality standards for the Scandinavian market.
