Ethiopia: A hot”dating-partner” for the Norwegian business-community

On the 23rd of August, Norwegian Ambassadors met with the Norwegian business community as part of the yearly “Ambassadors meeting” held in Oslo. Business-representatives could request for short “dates” with Ambassadors to gain knowledge about business opportunities in various countries. In this regard, Ethiopia proved to be a sought-after “dating partner”.
During the 2-hour-period set for the”speed-dating”, Ambassador Jens Petter Kjemprud met with 12 Norwegian businesses. However, the list of “dating-requests” to get more info about Ethiopia was long, more than 80 companies had asked for a session with the Ambassador of Norway to Ethiopia, who is very pleased with the interest:
"In the last few years the interest from Norwegian business for Ethiopia has increased immensely. The rapid economic development in Ethiopia and more liberalized business environment must be the main contributors to this. The Embassy will be supportive in further enhancing business relations between Ethiopia and Norway", Ambassador Kjemprud concludes.
