Focus on Africa and Ethiopia at upcoming Norwegian Business Aid Conference

Last updated: 18.01.2010 // The topic of the 2010 Norwegian Business Aid Conference is “Africa – Continent of Opportunity?”

Every year, the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (Næringslivets hovedorganisasjon, NHO) together with Innovation Norway organise the Norwegian Business Aid Conference (Næringslivets bistandskonferanse, NBK). This year’s conference, to be held on 10 February in Oslo, will focus on opportunities and challenges for Norwegian business in Africa.

Norwegian business leaders will present their experiences regarding how profitable investments and trade can contribute to development and local enterprise. Government representatives will present new financing opportunities and models for increased cooperation.

Among the panellists and participants are Minister for Environment and Development Mr. Erik Solheim, NHO CEO Mr. John G. Bernander, UNDP Assistant Secretary-General Mr. Bruce Jenks, and former Africa correspondent Mr. Tomm Kristiansen.

A special focus will be on Ethiopia and Angola. Ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud will make a presentation on business opportunities in Ethiopia and the challenge of changing perceptions to attract more investment and more trade.
