In 2009, Norwegian Company”Honningcentralen” imported 40 tons of honey from Ethiopia, and made it available in Norwegian supermarkets starting from September. Prime Minister Meles Zenawi officially inaugurated the Tekeze Hydropower Plant last Saturday. Tekeze is the highest dam in Africa (188 meters) and the power plant will generate 300 MW when it is fully operational. Tekeze is the first of five ongoing hydropower projects to go operational. Norway is also supporting Ethiopia in it's hydropower development endeavours. Read more >

The Norwegian fertilizer company Yara has won a 100.000 tonnes delivery contract for fertilizer in the latest round of bidding, approved by the Ministry of Agriculture. Yara was among four companies selected. Norwegian Yara is the world's biggest mineral fertilizer producer. Read more >
