Deputy Executive Secretary Lalla Ben Barka described the extrabudgetary funding received from the Pooled Fund Partners as crucial for the ambitions ECA has set for the organisation. She mentioned in particular the role ECA has been able to take in enabling constructive African engagement in G20 and ECAs role in the African Peer Review Mechanism, as well as in gender equality issues on the continent.
During the Performance Review all divisions explained their last year activities and plans. Forthcoming APRM country review missions include Mauritius, Tanzania and Ethiopia, while second round APRM tematic reviews will be conducted for Ghana, Kenya and Rwanda and Country Support Missions will be undertaken for Cameroon and Zambia, all with ECA assistance. Possible ECA assistance to a APRM acceleration process was discussed.
ECA's role in Delivering as One was deliberated upon, in particular ECA's regional responsibility, as well as ECA's cooperation with African Union and African Development Bank.
