Joint disarmament initiative in NATO

Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg have called on NATO to support efforts to achieve a world without nuclear weapons. “Our aim is to reduce the importance of nuclear weapons in NATO’s security policy,” said Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

African Union discusses practical cooperation with NATO

On 18 and 19 February, a group of high level officials from the African Union (AU) - led by Mr. Sivuyile Thandikhaya Bam, Head of the Peace Support Operations Division of the African Union - visited NATO’s Headquarters and the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Belgium.
