MSF in Djibouti
Since March 2009 MSF has with support of Norway set up a 40 bed in-patient structure in the slums of the capital of Djibouti and provided support to the ambulatory program of the Ministry of Health (MoH) by a medical component and training-oriented approach for MoH staff. MSF has been implementing activities within the slum to find malnourished children, defaulter tracing and vulnerability identification. Through continued Norwegian support the capacity in 2010 will be increased by 60 beds, continue to run the in-patient structure based on identified needs and also train the MoH staff with goal of reinforcing the project impact and sustainability.
MSF in Ethiopia
In Ethiopia the aim is to reduce morbidity and mortality in the Anchar worreda. Main focus will be on practical training of nurses and relevant authorities, registration and follow-up documentation of patients, and program management including stock management and ordering. This will be the first time Norway supports this program.
