“My thematic areas are key-issues, all broad and cross-cutting”, says Ato Kidanemariam. He has solid experience from both governmental and nongovernmental organizations prior to his new job; he comes straight from Global Water Partnership (Ethiopian Chapter) where he was Country Coordinator and a Project Manager in Ethiopia, and has experience from the Water Resource Development Fund under the Ethiopian Ministry for Water Rresources as an Environmentalist. Ato Kidanemariam is a holder of an M.SC Degree in Environmental Science from UNESCO-IHE, Delft in the Netherlands.
His first week at the embassy has been busy settling in and preparing himself, but Ato Kidanemariam has a good feeling about his new-working place:
“Having a friendly working environment makes it easy to get started. The embassy is a quiet place with friendly people”.
Ato Kidanemariam has been connected with Norway through the Norwegian Church Aid, in particular through a review in collaboration with The Drylands Coordination Group (http://www.drylands-group.org/)
Working on environmental issues, Ato Kidanemariam has a good view of Norway’s role in his working area: “ Scandinavian countries and Norway are genuine supporters on environmental issues globally”, he adds.
The Embassy gives a warm welcome to Ato Kidanemariam Jembere!
