Four new diplomatic staff members

Last updated: 09.11.2010 // The embassy’s diplomatic staff has been renewed by four members. One of the positions is a new regional one, while two of the positions are filled by people with strong previous experience from Ethiopia. Mr. Håvard Hoksnes is the New Counsellor and Head of Development. He has previously served at the Norwegian embassies in Angola and Mozambique, at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affaires, and has also worked for UNDP and the NGO Norwegian Peoples Aid. 

Mr.Johan Helland has taken up the position as first Secretary. While new to Norwegian MFA, Mr.Helland is far from new to Ethiopia, a country he has been working with and in for more than forty years. Mr Helland comes from a position as Senior Researcher at the Christian Michelsen Institute in Bergen, Norway. Read more about MR. Helland on http://www.cmi.no/staff/cv/?johan-helland

Ms Katrine Vestbøstad is the new counsellor and regional energy adviser. She comes from the position as Energy Adviser in Norad and has previously worked in Multiconsult/NORPLAN. She has also been part of the Norwegian Fredskorpset exchange programme, where she was working in Ethiopia for Shebelle Consulting Engineers from 2005 until 2006.


Mrs. Elin Ullebø is the new second secretary for regional affairs. She has previously been a trainee at the embassy of Norway in Seoul, and worked for the Norwegian Ministry of defense, as well as two years for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the EU-section in Oslo. She has also worked as an archivist at the Embassy of Norway in Nairobi.
