The Contract Agreement was signed by H.E. Asfaw Dingamo, Minster of the MoWR, and the representative of Halcrow, Mr Alan K. Clark. H. E. Ato Asfaw Dingamo, on the occasion, expressed his hope that Halcrow Group would finalize the assignment as per the scheduled time and that necessary support would be provided by the MoWR for the purpose. Mr Alan, on his part, also indicated his satisfaction over the opportunity obtained by his Firm to work on the Project, and vowed to make best use of their world-wide experience and work closely with all the Project stakeholders in order to deliver the required output.
The EIA/SEIA consultancy contract is a component of the Feasibility Studies of Mandaya and Beko Abo Multipurpose Project, which Norway and the Ethiopian Government signed on 30 Nov 2009. The Technical consultancy contract of the same project was signed on 04 March 2010 between the MoWR and Norplan-Norconsult-EDF-ScotWilson.
Halcrow Group will work in partnership with COWI (Norwegian), NIPLEN (South African) and Generation International Rural Development Consultancy (Ethiopian) companies.
