Eastern Nile Technical Regional Office (ENTRO) Hosts First Annual Meeting of the Norwegian-financed Project

Last updated: 04.11.2010 // The Annual Meeting of the ‘Technical Support to ENTRO for Facilitation of Regional Consultation and Information Sharing for the Feasibility Studies of Mandaya and Beko Abo Multipurpose Project’, financed by Norway, was held on 29 Oct 2010 at ENTRO HQ here in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Abeba.


Hosted by the ENTRO, the Annual Meeting was attended by representatives from the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa, Norad and the Ethiopian Ministry of Water and Energy.

The Delegation from the Norwegian side were Håvard Hoksnes, Counsellor / Head of Development Cooperation; Katrine Vestbøstad, Counsellor / Regional Adviser for Energy, Environment and Climate Change; Anne Glomnes Rudi, Energy Adviser at Norad; and Mersha Argaw, Program Officer at the RNE.

In its half day deliberation, the semiannual meeting looked into the progress of the project from January 2010 up to June 2010, the work plan for July 2010 to June 2011, and opportunities and challenges faced during the Project reporting period.

The Technical Support to ENTRO Project was signed on 07 December 2009 between the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ENTRO, with a total budget of NOK 6 Million, and is expected to last until 2012.
