“Knarvikmila” has had cooperation with “The Great Ethiopian run”, since 2008. In 2009, representatives of Knarvikmila visited Addis Abeba and met with Haile, handing over a 246,000 ETB contribution for the Great Runs Charity project in 2009; Ethiopia Birhan Reproductive Health and Anti-Aids Association. Speaking to www.norway.org.et at the time, Harald Nygård, who is a technical manager for Knarvikmila said: “Meeting with Haile Gebreselassie was a wonderful experience; he is such a nice and down-to earth guy who impressed all of us so much. Our dream is to have a visit from him at Knarvikmila, but it is not likely to happen the next couple of years as he is so busy.”
But hard work and tight cooperation has payed off, and on the 16th of Fevruary, local Norwegian newspaper “Nordhordaland” reported that Haile Gebreselassie will take part in “Knarvikmila” in September. He will also give a lecture on training and motivation.
