Friday means ”Eskista” at the Norwegian Embassy

04.03.2010 // Norwegian staff shake their shoulders as a weekend-warm-up.

Since November 2009, every Friday at 3 pm has been dedicated to Eskista-lessons for the Norwegian staff at the Embassy. Two Ethiopian dance-instructors have taught traditional Ethiopian dances to a number of curious and dedicated Norwegians.

-This is good fun, and beats a lot of other types of exercise. For me, Esksista is of more benefit than a trip to the physiotherapist, says Minister Counsellor Rolf Ree, a dedicated on and off participant.

Other Ethiopian dances on the repertoire of the Norwegian “Ensemble” include Tigrinya and Guraginya.
