Anne and Helge - new staff at the Embassy

20.05.2009 // The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa is growing. Helge M. Kristoffersen have joined the embassy as new Head of Administration. Anne Holo Kristoffersen will take up the task as new Archivist.

Helge M. Kristoffersen and Anne Holo Kristoffersen, both from Modum in Buskerud, come from postings in Kampala, Uganda.

- We think this will be very exciting and interesting positions, says the two. They are not new to Africa, working at the embassies in Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Lusaka and Kampala prior to the new jobs in Addis Ababa.

- I am looking forward to this challenging task with a continuous growing embassy. My first impression of the country is very positive, says Helge. They would both like to thank everybody at the embassy for all their help and warm welcome.

What do you like most by working on this continent?

- We are very impressed by the different peoples and their cultures. Also the magnificent scenery and all the things you experience – we have many good memories from East Africa. One of the events in their Africa career that they remember vividly but still feel sorry about happened in Kenya.

- When the diplomatic relations were severed in 1990 we had to evacuate 105 Norwegians within a week -and so many people where left behind with little or no means of livelihood.

The Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa would like to welcome Helge and Anne to Ethiopia.
