Gry and Berit - new staff at the Embassy

03.06.2009 // The embassy continues growing: Mrs Gry Henriksen is the new immigration attaché and Ms Berit Flåthen is assisting the embassy as archivist in May and June.

Gry Henriksen came from a six months posting in Nairobi. Her position as immigration attaché will involve cooperation with other embassies and the Ethiopian government.

- I look forward to this challenge and looking forward to get to know Ethiopia, says Mrs Henriksen. Her first impression is very good:

- People are very friendly and helpful. I was so lucky to be her two times last year as well. Mrs Henriksen will stay in Ethiopia for two years.

Assisting with the archive

Berit Flåthen is working as a substitute archivist with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and she is assisting the embassy for eight weeks in May and June. Being a substitute archivist makes her workplace change for place to place – spending some weeks at each embassy in need. She has been serving embassies in Scotland, Spain, Austria, Israel, USA, Russia, Kuwait and East-Germany.

- I like it here in Ethiopia and with the embassy! I also worked here six weeks last year and I feel very welcome – people in general are very nice in Ethiopia, says Flåthen.

The embassy welcomes both Gry Henriksen and Berit Flåthen.
